According to news reports, actor Columbus Short was arrested right before a performance at a Los Angeles bar.
E! News confirms with the Short’s people that he was arrested by “bounty hunters” and booked for a citizen’s arrest at around 12:30 a.m.
“His arrest was not due to an outstanding warrant as was erroneously reported,” Short’s team tells E! News in a statement.
“It appears that this is a citizens arrest as a result of an issue between Mr. Short and his bail bondsman. The report bail amount of $500,000 is also inaccurate. No additional information is available at this time.”
Short is currently being housed in Men’s Central jail on $250,000 bail, and has a court date August 20th at 8:30 a.m.
The actor has had brushes with the law in 2014 which include public intoxication, felony battery and failing to appear in court.
