The Dallas Cowboys’ 2025 schedule is here, and it’s packed with marquee matchups and intriguing storylines. With five prime-time games, including a Thanksgiving clash against the Kansas City Chiefs and a Christmas meeting with the Washington Commanders, fans can expect excitement all season long.

The Cowboys kick off the NFL season in Week 1 with a high-stakes road game against the reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. Opening on Thursday Night Football, this will set the tone for the season as Dallas looks to avenge last year’s struggles against their NFC East rival. Other early challenges include hosting the Green Bay Packers in Week 4 under Sunday Night Football lights, marking an opportunity to end Green Bay’s dominance at AT&T Stadium.

Thanksgiving brings a familiar yet daunting opponent as the Cowboys take on Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. Not only is this a headline-grabbing matchup, but its playoff-weight is significant with Kansas City being one of the NFL’s top teams. On Christmas Day, Dallas faces a quick turnaround, traveling to Washington in a key divisional clash.

The schedule also includes a Week 14 trip to Detroit, where they’ll face a surging Lions squad. With consecutive prime-time games against the Vikings and Chargers in Weeks 15 and 16, Dallas will have to be sharp down the stretch. An NFC East-heavy finish, including games against the Eagles and Giants, could decide division standings and seeding.

This season is particularly pivotal for head coach Brian Schottenheimer in his first campaign leading the team. He inherits a talented roster led by Dak Prescott, Micah Parsons, and new weapon George Pickens. Navigating a stacked schedule will require consistency, particularly with four short-rest Thursday games.

If the Cowboys can hold their own in divisional matchups and exploit weaker opponents like the Cardinals, they have a strong chance to contend for a playoff spot. A double-digit win season is within reach, though success will depend on their performances in crucial late-season games.
