Dallas Wings Star Arike Ogunbowale Awarded Her Own Day in Dallas

It’s official! Mayor Eric Johnson proclaimed August 28th Arike Ogunbowale Day in Dallas. The star Dallas Wings guard was recognized at Dallas City Hall, Wednesday for winning the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game MVP award last month.
Ogunbowale showed off her record-breaking performance to win the award, setting a new mark for the WNBA All-Star Game in a single quarter with 21 points. Her 34 points were a big factor in Team WNBA’s 117-109 victory over Team USA.
This was her second time taking home the trophy; her first was in 2021, when she put up 26 points in a 93-85 triumph over Team USA.
In 2019, the Wings drafted Ogunbowale, who has been awarded an All-Star four times in her six seasons with the W.
