Kate Pepper, A McKinney teenager, knows her story. She knows she battled brain cancer once before in 2014 and beat it. She also knows over the summer the cancer returned and this time no more treatment options are available.
What she didn’t know was how the story of last Friday would end. Kate started off the day thinking an unexpected dinner invitation to a local steakhouse from her boyfriend of several years would be the highlight of her night. She would later find out how wrong she was.
Hundreds of people that included friends, classmates, teachers and family had something else in mind for her.
