In what may be the craziest free agent pursuit ever, Center DeAndre Jordan changes his mind and stays home. After verbally agreeing to a 4-year $80 million dollar contract with the Dallas Mavericks, Jordan changed his mind and re-signed with the Los Angeles Clippers to a 4-year $88 million dollar contract.

According to reports, Jordan had second thoughts on the verbal agreement and placed a call to his former team. Wednesday, Clippers owner Steve Ballmer, President/Head Coach Doc Rivers, and players Blake Griffin and Chris Paul all flew to Jordan’s Houston home to convince him to stay in LA.

What turns out to be an amazing 11th-hour move from the Clippers, this is a big blow to the Dallas Mavericks. Currently Greg Smith and Bernard James are the only Centers signed to the roster in which was expected to compete for a championship with Jordan.

Even though Jordan verbally agreed to sign with the Mavericks, according to NBA rules players have till Thursday, July 8th, 7 days from the start of free agency when teams can start talking to players, to actually sign their contracts.
