NBA free agent center DeAndre Jordan is coming home to Texas.

According to reports Jordan will leave the Los Angeles Clippers to sign with the Dallas Mavericks. The contract will be a four-year maximum contract worth in around $80 million and includes a player option after the third season. Jordan can opt out and become a free agent again in July 2018.

This will give Jordan the chance to become the a bigger option on offense and return to Texas after playing at Texas A&M in college. Reports after the season suggested that Jordan and Clippers point guard Chris Paul had a falling out.

Jordan finished first in the league in field goal percentage (.710) and rebounds per game (15.0) in 2014-15. He was the first player to do so in back-to-back seasons since Wilt Chamberlain in 1971-72 and 1972-73. Jordan’s field goal percentage was the second highest in NBA history behind Chamberlain’s .727 in 1972-73.
