Last night the Dallas Wings (4-3) defeated the Phoenix Mercury (1-4) at UTA’s College Park Arena 84-79 in the Commissioners Cup game! Satou Sabally led the ladies to victory with 24 points and snatched her 4th straight double-double! Kalani Brown and Arike Ogunbowale were twin flames on the court both scoring 17 points, while rookie Maddy Siegrist backdoored with another 14 points!
According to the WNBA website, the Commissioners Cup Games are in-season games where teams compete for a prize pool and extra money for charitable and civic organizations. This year, the Wings used this opportunity to host Pride Night and support organizations like the North Texas LGBT Chamber of Commerce and the Greg Dollgener Memorial Aids Fund. They also showed support to the Bring Our Families Home Campaign and welcomed Brittney Griner back home to Texas for the first time since her detainment.
