Monday afternoon, a 15-year-old boy was killed in a traffic crash in Plano, Texas.

The crash occurred around noon in the 600 block of Independence Parkway, near Plano Parkway.

Police say the driver of a blue Chevy Volt was traveling at high speeds on southbound Independence Parkway when the driver lost control of the vehicle, crossed the center median, and struck a white Lincoln Navigator that was heading north on Independence Parkway.

4 people were in the vehicle, including 15-year-old Carter Heise, who died at the scene.

The other 3 passengers were taken to the hospital, while the driver of the Chevy Volt was not hurt. It’s not clear how serious the other victims’ injuries are

Police are still investigating the crash and have not said whether their driver will face charges.
