Bold. Electrifying. Unstoppable. LaLa Johnson doesn’t just pay tribute to Tina Turner—she becomes the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll on stage. From the signature growl to the soul-shaking power of “Proud Mary,” LaLa delivers a performance that is unmatched, unforgettable, and undeniably Tina.
Her journey began in the Baptist church of her childhood, where her voice first found its roots gospel. A 14-year U.S. Army Veteran, Singer-Songwriter, Actress, and Vocal Coach, LaLa has since toured the world, most notably as the Soprano background vocalist for Grammy Award- winning Neo-Soul Pioneer, Erykah Badu. But it’s her fiery portrayal of Tina Turner that has audiences on their feet and critics hailing her as a force of nature. LaLa Johnson is the visionary founder of i.Tina, a 12-piece, all-woman powerhouse band that celebrates the life, legacy, and timeless hits of Tina Turner. From “What’s Love Got to Do With It” to “Nutbush City Limits,” LaLa channels Tina’s raw energy, magnetic stage presence, and iconic moves, creating a show that feels less like a tribute and more like a resurrection of greatness. Beyond i.Tina, LaLa’s versatility shines through her work as the founder of Lucy, an acoustic jazz quintet, and her critically-acclaimed Diva Tribute Series, which celebrates legendary vocalists. Her latest triumph, “Three American Divas” (3AD), further solidifies her as one of the most dynamic performers on the scene today. In every performance, LaLa Johnson doesn’t just honor Tina Turner—she reignites her spirit. Powerful, passionate, and unapologetically bold, LaLa Johnson ensures that the Queen’s legacy continues to shine as bright as ever.
