Dallas is home to two of the top 10 high schools in the nation.

U.S. News & World Report just released its annual rankings, which put The School for the Talented and Gifted at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center at No. 5.

The School of Science and Engineering Magnet ranks eighth.

Only two other Texas schools — in Houston and in Donna — were in the survey’s top 25.

More than 22,000 schools nationwide were analyzed based on state testing results and coursework offerings to students.

The magazine survey listed Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria, Virginia as the nation’s No. 1 high school.

Overall, Texas schools ranked 14th as measured against the other states.
