Footage from the deadly shooting of Eric Courtney Harris has surfaced, providing a better picture of the deputy-involved incident that happened earlier this month in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office released the video on Saturday and in it, Harris – who at the time was accused of owning illegal weapons – is seen being chased and shot by authorities.

CNN reports:

The reserve deputy thought he had his Taser in hand, not his firearm, and shot Harris “inadvertently,” according to the sheriff’s office.

In the last minutes of the video, Harris, a convicted felon, lies on the pavement with police on top of him. An officer calls for a Taser. But in place of an electric clicking sound, a gunshot rings out.
An officer is heard apologizing after he shot Harris. The site continues:
Harris, who is bleeding, calls out, too. He’s losing his breath, he says. An officer yells back at him. “You f—ing ran! Shut the f— up!” he yells. “F— your breath.”
Harris was taken to a local hospital and died later that day.
Police say Harris admitted to being under the influence of PCP during the incident. Former police officer Robert Bates, the officer who shot “by mistake,” was placed on administrative leave after the shooting.
