Perpetuating girl crushes (okay, all crushes) everywhere, primetime star Sofía Vergara will be producing an autobiographical series for ABC called “Raising Mom. This project is the latest to come out of Vergara’s Latin World Entertainment (Latin WE) company and Electus production studio.

Luis Balaguer of Latin WE came up with the idea fore the comedy after watching Vergara, 41, interacting with her son Manolo, 21. The plot is loosely based off their relationship. The show will center on a young single mother and son who essentially raise each other, but who must seek out independent successes.

Gail Mancuso, the Emmy-winning director of ABC’s “Modern Family” is behind the new series, and it will be written by Christine Zander of “Raising Hope.”

Vergara boasts a well-rounded résumé. The Colombian actress has been Emmy nominated four times for her portrayal of Gloria on “Modern Family,”, is the executive producer of ABC’s “Killer Women” (the English-speaking adaptation of “Mujeres Asesinas”), and is casually the highest paid actress on TV for two years running. No big deal.
