DALLAS – A nude man crashed a pickup truck through the entrance of the Southwest Center Mall on Camp Wisdom Road Friday morning in Dallas.
Police said he drove through the double doors, straight into several kiosks and then took a right and drove straight through the pulled down gates of a Champs Sports store.
The man then got out of the truck and started dressing himself in clothes from the store, including putting on a brand new pair of Nike Jordan sneakers.
Police detained the man and put him in the back of a cruiser. The man did not appear injured, but emergency responders rushed him by ambulance to Methodist Central for a complete physical and mental evaluation.
Police said they believe the man is the same one reported to be involved in two other incidents earlier Friday morning in South Dallas, including a report of a family disturbance in South Dallas.
And, just before the mall incident, police said they received a call from a woman in the area saying a man in a red pickup truck approached her car. She told police he was wearing only a blanket, knocked on her window and told her to get out, but she drove off.
Minutes later, police got a call that the red pickup truck smashed through the Southwest Center Mall. Police believe the same man is involved in all three incidents. His name has not been released.
The mall general manager was on scene to help assess damage. The mall is expected to be open normal business hours, but the smashed out entrance will remain roped off.
