Big K.R.I.T. (King Remembered In Time) is without a doubt one of “the next big things.” Having already worked extensively with up-and-comers Curren$y and Wiz Khalifa, the Meridian, Mississippi native has been named one of 11 to watch on XXL’s Freshman 2011.

The rapper/producer shines as one of the South’s newest stars. His Southern drawl magnificently glides over hard hitting base lines creating a sound reminiscent of the late Pimp C rapping over an Outkast beat – it’s that no veiled, intimidating, realistic assessment of life which can be spellbinding in both it’s horror (a diatribe on crack use and HIV/AIDS in the song “They Got Us All”) and it’s optimism and assertion of a young man’s dreams (“King”). A fun, spacey duo with Devin the Dude (“Moon and Stars”) has K.R.I.T. showing off his lyrical flexibility. There’s no doubt that the man has talent, and his collaboration with some of the businesses top names speaks volume to the respect that K.R.I.T. deserves.

You can check out Big K.R.I.T. in Austin at BILLIARD BUNGALOW @ BUFFALO BILLIARDS on Saturday, March 19.
