A new indictment unsealed Thursday added 16 counts of aggravated battery to the case against Chicago cop Jason Van Dyke in the fatal shooting of Laquan McDonald in 2014.

The Cook County State's Attorney's office said Friday that no criminal charges will come against Chicago, Illinois police officer Robert Rialmo, who fatally shot 19-year-old Quintonio LeGrier and mistakenly Bettie Jones, who was a grandmother standing by LeGrier during a fatal incident in 2015.

The June 2014 incident occurred after the patient reportedly assaulted Chicago Police Officer Clauzell Gause. Later, the 40-year-old officer was captured on video at Jackson Park Hospital attacking the patient, whose hands were cuffed behind his back

The city of Chicago has begun a $5.5 million payout of reparations to nearly 60 individuals who were tortured by the police in the 1970s and 1980s.
