Former President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that has spread to his bones, his office announced Sunday. The cancer has been classified with a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5), indicating a serious case. However, the disease is hormone-sensitive, which allows for several effective treatment options.
Biden, 82, underwent further medical evaluation after a small nodule was discovered in his prostate. He and his family are currently exploring treatment paths with his doctors. In a statement on social media, Biden said, “Cancer touches us all… Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places.”
