Nicole Scherzinger is set to play Maureen in a production of Rent this summer!
The 31-year-old singer and “Dancing With The Stars” champ will join teen-queen “High School Musical” star Vanessa Hudgens in a Neil Patrick Harris-directed production of the Broadway hit this August in Hollywood.
“Nicole had a wonderful audition – she was well prepared, sang beautifully, and had us all laughing. If only she was somewhat attractive and didn’t have two left feet…,” Harris joked.
In the 2005 film adaptation of the play, Maureen, a bi-sexual performance artist, was played by Taye Diggs’ wife, Idina Menzel. And Rosario Dawson fulfilled the role of Mimi who Hudgens will be playing.
