An ex-Army staff sergeant from Texas took bribes while stationed in Iraq and used the money to buy plastic surgery, among other items, according to a report in the Houston Chronicle .

Theresa Russell, 40, pleaded guilty in San Antonio on Thursday to money laundering, the paper reported.

The Pleasanton resident allegedly got the money by taking bribes from a foreign business via a former Army reserves major.

Russell said she received more than $30,000 in cash.
