Former No Limit rapper Mystikal isn’t making any excuses for the crime that sent him to prison for more than half-a-decade. The emcee best-known for the hits “Shake Ya Ass” and “Danger” just got out of the pen after doing six years for sexual battery and extortion. Mystikal pleaded guilty to forcing his hair stylist to perform oral sex on him after discovering that she had illegally cashed $80,000 in checks from his bank account.

This week a New Orleans radio jock asked Mystikal if he felt rappers are targeted by the police. The rapper refused to pass the buck and said hip hop artists need to check some of their behavior. Mystikal stated, quote, “I think we have to pay more attention to what we are doing to ourselves. We gotta take responsibility for what we do too. That’s the easy excuse. We have to tighten up and not blame others. You can’t be foolish especially when you’re successful.”
