Social Media Post Made by Fort Worth Substitute Teacher Sparks Investigation

According to CBS, a board member of the Fort Worth Independent School District is looking into a comment on social media that was allegedly posted by a substitute teacher. The comment asked immigration police to visit North Side High School.

The post comes after the Trump administration took away protections for schools from immigration and increased searches by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. It spread very quickly.
A picture of the now viral social media post on X shows a message to ICE that says, “You guys should go to Northside High School in Fort Worth, TX.”I have many students that don’t even speak English.
That account has since been made private. Fort Worth ISD and a lot of families whose kids go to North Side High School, where 93% of the students are Hispanic or Latino, reacted quickly.
The Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge saw a large-scale protest on Sunday in response to recent discussions about Trump’s immigration policies and executive orders for mass deportations.
According to reports, Fort Worth ISD assured families and students in a letter that they are “committed to the safety of its students and actively investigating the post and does not keep track of immigration status information for students or families.”
