DFW Winter Storm: Flight Cancellations, City Services Shut Down

Day 1 of the Winter Storm has begun, and DFW residents are scrambling to get last minute groceries and firewood before the weekend brings extreme weather. This disruption has brought chaos on the highways with multiple accidents, delayed thousands of flights, and closed down schools in North Texas. Government buildings and every day services will also be paused until it is deemed safe to travel on the roads again. Check out the list of city facility delays and closures courtesy of WFAA.

Arlington

Residential recycling and bulk garbage collection won’t happen  Thursday

Carrollton

The City of Carrollton’s public-facing facilities will be closed Thursday.

Cleburne

Cleburne city offices are closed Thursday

Collin County

Collin County government facilities are closed Thursday

Dallas 

Dallas County government facilities are closed Thursday and Friday

Denton

City of Denton facilities will be closed Thursday

Duncanville

City Hall closed at noon Thursday.

Farmers Branch

City Hall and all city facilities will be closed Thursday, and waste disposal services are canceled

Forney

City of Forney offices will be closed Thursday

Fort Worth

Municipal court dockets are being rescheduled Thursday

Highland Village

City offices will be open for normal business hours

Hurst

City facilities close at 2 Thursday. There will be no residential garbage or recycling service Thursday

North Richland Hills

City facilities closed at noon

Plano

Plano Recreation Facilities and libraries are closed today and customer and utility services are closed to walk-in services. Thursday and Friday

Richardson

City facilities will close at 5 p.m. on Thursday and may close earlier depending on weather conditions

Seagoville
