Zay Day 2024: Register For Free Haircuts & Backpacks

The 3rd annual “Zay Day”, now in its 3rd year is excited to provide free backpacks and haircuts to children as they prepare to return to school.

Zay Day is an annual event that is apart of a birthday celebration for on-air personality Hollywood Zay. This event is held near and dear to his heart as he seeks to give back to the community in a meaningful way.

We were able to give away 100 backpacks last year, plus an extra 50 backpacks to children with autism thanks to our partnership with Capitol Records, Texas Fadez Barber College, and local musicians.

On August 8, 2023, the day before Zay Day, we planned an autism awareness event. “Special Actions for Unique Requirements.” Professional training was provided to parents of children with autism and Down syndrome on how to utilize silent trimmers for at-home haircuts. Thanks to the barber plug, we were also able to give away two free trimmers.

This event aims to empower parents with the necessary skills and tools to make the haircut experience more comfortable for their children with autism and down syndrome.

We believe that these events hold significant importance for our community and the broader discussion on supporting children and families.
