Rhenotha Whitaker has been natural for 6 years. Before that, she was a self-identified “perm queen.” She exclusively tells Hello Beautiful, “You wouldn’t catch me without my hair swinging back and forth!”

It wasn’t until her little sister (who is natural) came to live with her and she noticed when she was taking down her braids that her “kitchen” actually had some length! Rhenotha then decided that natural hair didn’t necessarily mean short hair, and decided to join the natural hair route and rid her scalp of chemicals.

While some may be okay with the “big chop”, Rhenotha adamantly was not. Her method for going natural was to let her hair grow out, snipping it as it grew. There are multiple ways to go natural, ladies! Do what’s most comfortable for YOU.

Rhenotha is an avid couponer and leads what she defines as a frugal life. With this being said, she focuses on hair products she can get for $.50 or less or are free. Don’t believe it? She has tons of free or $.50 hair products from brands like Garnier, Got2Be, L’Oreal, and John Frieda. She focuses more so on ensuring her hair is moisturized versus what type of product!

Currently, she is using Tresemme Flawless Curls Shampoo and Pantene Cleansing Conditioner to wash and condition her hair. When she is done, she uses a mixture of Garnier Sleek and Shine Anti-Humidity Smoothing Milk mixed with Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

How does she achieve her gorgeous fro? She either twists her hair with a mixture of products or cornrows it. When it dries (next day), she picks it out with a wide tooth comb and boom! This gorgeous afro, below.

Rhenotha has beautiful, healthy hair and it’s proof that you don’t have to spend a lot of money on product for your hair to look fabulous. The best natural hair care tip she has ever received is to moisturize. Moisturizing doesn’t only mean with product, ladies. Remember the best moisture for your hair is WATER! Don’t be afraid to let your strands take a dip!
