One of the top stories this year has been Future’s incredible string of releases. He’s put out two stellar mixtapes and two No. 1 albums, including a joint effort with Drake. And he put out Monster, the tape that started it all in late October of 2014. Is his run historic? Well, some people have been saying that 2 Chainzhad a period of similar productivity in 2012 and 2013. At least that’s what the hosts of the Rap Radar podcast think, and when 2 Chainz was the guest on their latest episode, they asked the Atlanta rapper to speak on the comparisons.Tity Boi went on to explain that he has felt a divine sort of inspiration during certain periods of his career. “It’s that glow. It’s that feeling. It’s literally feeling like God put his hand on you,” said the “Watch Out” rapper. He went on to explain that having that sort of drive for an extended period of time can be a double-edged sword, and he proceeded to recount having to miss the birth of his second daughter because of travel delays due to booking too many shows.Personally, I don’t quite see the comparison. Tity Boi certainly had a bunch of hits during the one year period in which he dropped his first two albums, Based on a T.R.U. Story and B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time, but those were his only full projects. Regardless, the quality of both albums is certainly up there with everything Future has been putting out.

Can you think of a rapper that has had a Future-esque run? (By the way, Southside recently revealed that Mr. Hendrix has 9 (NINE!) projects ready for release).
