The last time we heard new music from Tweet, the singer, there was no Twitter. Now a Google search for “Tweet” lists whatever’s trending in social media. Just as the times and technology have changed, the songstress is getting fans accustomed to her government name, Charlene Keys now that she’s back with new music.

It’s been ten years since the release of her 2005 album, It’s Me Again. Though she’s toured, performed and signed several deals within that time, Tweet has yet to have the same commercial success of her debut album, Southern Hummingbird.

In July 2015, Tweet signed to eOne Music and she’s just debuted the single and music video for her song, “Won’t Hurt Me”. Before we talk about the song, can we ask where she buys the unicorn tears that has the 43 year old grandmother (yes, grandmother) looking as youthful as she did when we met her in 2002 via her #1 Billboard song, “Oops, Oh My”. #BlackDontCrack

Tweet sounds amazing on “Won’t Hurt Me”. While the video could be a little more polished given that she’s no longer an independent artist, we’re glad to have her back. You have our vote to open for Will Smith and Jazzy Jeff’s revival tour next summer!

Catch the video for “Wont’ Hurt Me” below. Tweet’s third studio album, Charlene will be released January 22, 2016 and it’ll be produced by Missy Elliott!
