Police in St. Louis are searching for suspects who robbed and carjacked a 93-year-old Tuskegee airman in two separate incidents Sunday.

The first incident occurred when the WWII veteran stopped to call his daughter after he got lost on the way to her home. A suspect jumped into his car and grabbed money from his pocket before exiting the vehicle, KMOV reports. Police say that suspect drove off in a “black, older model four-door vehicle.”

The veteran, who has not been named, followed the car for some time before losing sight of the vehicle.

A short while later, the veteran stopped again to ask two men for help. When he exited his maroon Honda Accord Sedan, the suspects got into the car and drove away.

According to KMOV, an “alert citizen” found the veteran’s car in the 1200 block of Bayard. Police are still urging the public to contact CrimeStoppers if they have any information about the suspects who robbed and carjacked the elderly man.

The victim was uninjured in the robberies.
