One of the highest rated shows in Television was left out the the big awards but one of it’s stars will get to shine. While the Fox hit TV show “Empire” didn’t get nominated for a Emmy for “Best Drama Series,” Taraji P. Henson did get a nod for Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role as “Cookie.” Joining her is Viola Davis for her role as “Annalise” on the ABC drama “How To Get Away With Murder.” This is Henson’s 2nd Emmy Nomination (Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie: Taken from Me: The Tiffany Rubin Story, 2011) and first for Davis.

Anthony Anderson gets his first Emmy nomination for the role of “Andre “Dre” Johnson, Sr.” in the ABC comedy series “Black’ish.” Don Cheadle gets his fourth overall Emmy nod and second his portrayal as “Marty Kaan” in the Showtime series “House of Lies.”
