This year has been nothing short of amazing for NBA star Stephen Curry. He and his team won the NBA Finals and he took home the league’s MVP trophy. And last Friday, his wife Ayesha Curry was the real MVP of the family, when she gave birth to their second child Ryan Carson Curry. Ayesha posted a blog entry to share the news. “The gift of life is truly an indescribable thing. We were fortunate enough to experience it all over again friday night!” she wrote. “Our beautiful little Ryan Carson Curry arrived perfectly healthy and happy!” Steph Curry took to Twitter to share his excitement about the new addition to their family. “My wife is a champ!” he tweeted. Outlawz Rapper Dies in Car Accident

New Jersey-bred rapper Bruce “Hussein Fatal” Washington died in a car accident on Saturday. The rapper, who was best known for being part of Tupac’s group The Outlawz, was featured on his All Eyez On Me album. The last album that the group released was in 2011. “God called anuther soldier home! Rest in Paradise our brother Hussein Fatal he passed away in a car accident! Pray for his family & kids at this time!” The Outlawz posted on their Facebook page. Following his death, his family launched a GoFund Me page to pay for funeral expenses. They’ve raised $6,678 out of $10,000 so far. Washington was 38-years-old. Read more.


Malala Yousafzai Opens School on Her 18th Birthday

Activist Malala Yousafzai is looking to further her mission of making education accessible for girls. Yesterday, on her 18th birthday, Yousafzai opened the “Malala Yousafzai All-Girls School” near the border of Syria. The school will serve 200 Syrian girls who reside in camps. “I am honored to mark my 18th birthday with the brave and inspiring girls of Syria. I am here on behalf of the 28 million children who are kept from the classroom because of armed conflict,” said Yousafzai. “Their courage and dedication to continue their schooling in difficult conditions inspires people around the world and it is our duty to stand by them. On this day, I have a message for the leaders of this country, this region and the world – you are failing the Syrian people, especially Syria’s children. This is a heartbreaking tragedy – the world’s worst refugee crisis in decades.” The Malala Fund also announced that they would donate $250,000 to UNICEF and UNHCR. Read more.


World’s Most Notorious Drug Lord Escapes from Prison

Over the past few months, inmates have been making headlines for escaping from prison. This weekend, Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman Loera, the world’s most notorious drug lord, made his escape from a maximum-security correctional facility outside of Mexico City. This isn’t the first time that “El Chapo” escaped from prison. Fourteen years ago, he got out of a Mexican maximum-security prison by hiding himself in a laundry basket and persuading an official to go along with the plan. This time, after noticing that he disappeared, they discovered a 20-by-20 hole in the floor that led to a tunnel. Read more.
