Three people are dead and thirty-four others are injured after a man purposely drove through a crowd in Graz, Austria this past Saturday.

According to People:

The driver, identified by the Graz City Council in a statement as a 26-year-old male, intentionally used his SUV as a weapon, according to CNN.

The man drove through Graz, Austria’s second-largest city, into a square where cars are not typically allowed to drive in an attempt to hit pedestrians, the news outlet reported.

Of the three people who died, one was a child. The driver, who was an Austrian citizen, has been arrested. Our prayers go out to the families affected by this tragic occurrence.
