Social media platforms has really made some people act as though they are invincible. Folks log into their accounts and proceed say anything to anyone and expect they won’t receive repercussions for their actions. Those days are starting to become a thing of the past and rightly so in some cases. The latest to learn this lesson the hard way is Bloomsburg University student Joey Casselberry. The junior who played first baseman for the Pennsylvania university, felt the need to insult Little League World Series star Mo’ne Davis on Twitter. It seems Casselberry got all inside his feelings when word broke the Disney Channel will be making a movie about her. On March 19, USA Today reported, Throw Like Mo was currently in development where Mo’ne will serve as a consultant for the film.

Apparently the news didn’t sit well with Casselberry, who decided to hop on Twitter and voice his opinions on the matter and remarked:

Disney is making a movie about Mo’ne Davis? WHAT A JOKE. That slut got rocked by Nevada.’

Casselberry is referring to Mo’ne and her team losing to Nevada in the World Series. Now, what in the world does Mo’ne’s team being booted from the playoffs have anything to do with her being a “slut”? If you aren’t happy with the press she’s getting fine, you can voice your feelings on the subject as to why you don’t get the hype. To call a 13-year-old TEEN out of her name by using a derogatory term because you don’t agree with the media coverage? Casselberry needs have his head checked and Twitter privileges revoked! Casselberry deleted the offensive tweet but users of the microblogging site were outraged (and rightly so) about this man’s remarks and went after him with guns blazing. Later, Casselberry apologized for sick comments and stated:

An example that one stupid tweet can ruin someone’s life and I couldn’t be more sorry about my actions last night. I please ask you to Forgive me and truly understand that I am in no way shape or form a sexist and I am a huge fan of Mo’ne. She was quite an inspiration.

The only thing “sorry” is Casselberry’s quasi apology after he was read like War and Peace. Casselberry’s account has been deleted and the university swiftly took action. Bloomsburg released a statement on Twitter where they condemned Casselberry’s remarks and revealed he was no long a part of their baseball team. Bloomsburg tweeted:

Casselberry has since deleted his account.
