President Barack Obama made a little time to greet some history-making hometown heroes this week!

Just because the Jackie Robinson West All-Stars play little league doesn’t mean they should be treated any differently than NBA champs! That’s why the squad, which is the first all-Black team ever to win the U.S. division in the Little League World Series, went to the White House on Thursday.

After all of the reports of increasing violence in the city, their amazing run at the Little League World Series gave Chicago something positive to focus on this summer.

Becoming national champs is already a huge honor, but meeting the president must be the icing on the cake for the young men. The president, who also hails from Chicago, tweeted that everyone at the White House is very proud of them, but there’s nothing quite like a delivering the message in person.

When the players paid their visit, they did not come empty-handed! the boys delivered a present custom-made for President Obama.
