Its been 10 years since Hov dropped the musically plush album filled with hits such as “Encore” “Allure” and “What More Can I Say,” and in celebration of one of Jay’s best, Pharrell (the self proclaimed “Purveyor of Great Experiences”) sat down with Life & Times and spoke candidly not only about Mr. Carter’s lyricism but his artistry. Skateboard P praised Jay’s longevity in hip-hop and confessed the reason why their chemistry is so rich, is because there’s a mutual respect for their individual processes.
“The Blurred Lines” producer praises Hov’s ability to make club hits but also his willingness to dive into emotional waters. Pharrell referenced Hov’s third verse on the Kanye West produced “Lucifer” as an example, and believing Hov took it to another level while recalling the death of his close friend, Bob.
