4 Of The Dumbest Defenses Of Rick Ross' 'Rape ' Lyric

Rick Ross is still feeling the heat from his rap lyric that references rape on the Rocko song “U.O.E.N.O.” While the Maybach Music Group leader has come out and said he doesn’t condone rape, he still hasn’t fully grasped why people are coming at his neck so hard. Rick Ross has been unable to get the angered masses to stop breathing down his neck about the “U.O.E.N.O.” verse. Most recently, a group of women, led by the Ultraviolet organization, went to the flagship Reebok store in New York City to demonstrate their disdain for Ross and his lyrics. As Ross is continuously chastised by angry music fans, his rap friends have tried to come to his aid and have failed. Check out the dumbest defenses of Rick Ross’ ‘rape’ lyric.

1. Tyga

“It’s like freedom of speech..people act like they don’t condone it. You can’t say what you think and that’s stupid. We all got friends that’s been to jail or done stuff–sold drugs or anything like that. Sometimes you gotta be the voice for them people. And that’s what rap is. Pac would talk about the streets and his baby moms getting on his nerves. He was just the voice.”

No, Tyga. We condone freedom of speech, but along with freedom of speech comes a responsibility. You and everybody else in this country has the right to say whatever it is they feel. However, they must also accept the fact that in exercising their first amendment rights, they must be prepared to be judged and ridiculed. And if rap is the voice of the downtrodden, why would a rapper choose to be the voice of a rapist? Don’t worry, I’ll wait…

2. Ace Hood

“Ross ain’t that type of guy. You know what I mean? I’ve known Ross since I jumped in this music industry, he ain’t mean it in no way that would be degrading to women or anything like that aura. What they saying he said, he didn’t say. You know what I’m saying, what they’re saying. Bottle and champagne, something like that.”

So what exactly did he say, Ace Hood? A person’s intentions are pretty clear when a person says, “Put molly all in her champagne, she ain’t even know it. I took her home and I enjoyed that, she ain’t even know it.” When a dude says that he put a molly in her drink then enjoyed the girl and she didn’t even know it that lets me know this guy is a damn creep and couldn’t get any without the help of fame, power, money, and a molly. Then again, a beggar can’t be choosy in how they get it, right? Wrong!

3. Meek Mill

“I don’t even care about nobody criticizing no lyrics. People rap about killing stuff all day. Biggie said, ‘Rape your kid. Throw her over the bridge.’ It was nothing, it was just hip-hop. Now you got all these weirdos on these social sites voicing their opinion about something anybody say. I don’t care. I’m from the ‘hood. I never really cared about what nobody say in no rap. Rap’s always been talking about killing, drugs, all types of stuff.”

We can tell you don’t care about rap by how elementary your scream-at-the-top-of-your-lungs lyrics are. After all, Ross is Meek Mill’s bawse and saying anything that goes against the family will be taken as an act of betrayal which would cause Meek to fall out of favor with the mid-level Illuminati.

4. Rick Ross

“There are certain things you can’t Tweet and certain things you want people to hear and I want to make sure this is clear..woman is the most precious gift known to man. You understand. There was a misunderstanding with a lyric or a misinterpretation. The term rape wasn’t used. I would never use the term rape in my records. Hip-Hop don’t condone that, the streets don’t condone that. Nobody condones that. I just want to reach out to all the queens on my timeline, the beautiful ladies that were reaching out to me…we don’t condone rape and I’m not with that.”

The reason Rick Ross’ own defense is stupid is because he proves that he truly doesn’t understand the meaning of rape. So let’s put it simply: just because you don’t actually use the word “rape,” doesn’t mean you’re not talking about it. Secondly, if you, as a man, do anything to take away her power to say no, you’ve committed rape in the eyes of the law. While you may live above the law in your rhymes, which is a world you created inside your head, you surely can’t live like that in the real world.
