While you were sleeping, Kendrick Lamar released his sophomore album To Pimp A Butterfly in the wee hours of the morning.

The verdict is still out on the album, but considering the initial reactions from fans on Twitter, Kendrick Lamar has done “it” again.

One of many notable moments on To Pimp A Butterfly includes a conversation Kendrick Lamar has with the late, great Tupac Shakur on the album’s closing track “Mortal Man.” In creating the song, Kendrick took excerpts from an interview Tupac did with Swedish music journalist Mats Nileskär on the P3 Soul radio show.

The interview was conducted just two weeks before the infamous Quad Studios shooting when Tupac was ambushed in the lobby of the Manhattan recording studio.
