Around 5 a.m. police received reports of gunshots in the area of East Las Olas Boulevard and SE 15th Avenue. When officers arrived they found a newer model silver sedan which had crashed into the front of a building in the 1400 block of East Las Olas Boulevard.
Police said when their officers arrived the driver and woman were gone.
A witness told CBS4 the driver of the car was rapper Rick Ross but police have not confirmed that information.
Las Olas Boulevard from SE 13th Avenue to SE 16th Avenue was temporarily closed to traffic for the police investigation. It re-opened around 8:30 a.m.
