A grandparents love is like no other! Smith Clinesmith, a reputable law firm dedicated to combating elder abuse, granted a University of North Texas journalism student $2,500 for submitting an essay about his love for his grandma and how she has influenced his life.
Brock Burgan was in the car one day listening to 97.9 The Beat and heard the opportunity to honor his grandmother and jumped right on it! He says that that it was something that he was more than excited to do, saying ” my grandmother is my hero.”
The journalism student displayed his awesome writing skills and was unanimously selected by Smith Clientsmith employees and staff to receive the award. Brock plans to use the money to pursue a career in sports reporting in the future.
