2. She Is Emerging: Marquila Turner

Marquila Turner is the founder of Quila’s Angels, Inc. She’s a mother of 3 children, 2 she considers her angels Eric Jr and Cameron who she lost a birth to ARPKD and a teenage daughter Aaliyah. She is on a mission to bring comfort and hope to mothers and families who have lost a child or children. Currently, she is a full time college student to become a Respiratory Therapist to help those who have lung problems.

An entrepreneur, inspiring writer, and confectioner who understands the importance of being a pro-active source to discussing relevant issues that are impactful, but also implementing and providing resources to resolve issues. Her aspirations and inspirations stem from an innate obsession to stimulate the mind and cultivating a positive voice for changing mindsets on all levels. She’s relentless in her efforts to bridge the gap for the underserved and the working poor. Pamela was born in Lake Charles, LA and relocated to Texas in 1987. She attended Northwood University and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She later earned her Master’s degree in Business Administration from Texas Woman’s University. Pamela has an extensive background; over 13 years’ experience in law enforcement, licensed as a Realtor for over 27 years and currently works as a Division Manager for the City of Dallas at the MLK Jr. Community Center. Her passion to serve and her love for people has allowed her to thrive in her career. She is known for seeing the best in everyone she meets which allows her to motivate, inspire and share her experiences with others. Through her efforts, Pamela hopes to motivate and kindle a financial, social, and economic consciousness for all who take advantage of the power of information. Her passion is to continue to be a beacon for truth and equality for all people

Psyche Terry is co-founder and CEO of UI Global Brands, a global manufacturer and nationwide marketer of consumer products with its keystone clean beauty brand, Urban Hydration. Psyche is a leader and innovator and is changing the game in beauty, fashion, and marketing. Not just a Beauty Boss but also a Beauty Queen, a recently crowned Mrs. USA Ambassador 2023.

Psyche funds college scholarship programs for students majoring in business at the Haworth College of Business. She also sat on the board of directors for both the Boys & Girls Clubs of Collin County and currently sits on the Western Michigan University Alumni Association Board and the Business Advisory Board, Texas A&M University-Texarkana Board which she also works as an entrepreneurship professor. A Boss, Wife and Mother of three, Psyche Terry is paving the way for a new wave of female movers and shakers.

Michelle Williams has over 16 years of expertise in social impact and innovation strategy, directing organizations toward equity-focused objectives. Her efforts in aiding underrepresented communities have garnered significant recognition including the President’s Award from the Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce, being named a Top Innovator Reshaping Texas by Texas Monthly, receiving the President of the Year Award from the National Urban League, and the Outstanding Texan Award from Texas Legislative Black Caucus via Senator Royce West. In her role as an executive strategy consultant, Michelle has been instrumental in enhancing public-private partnerships, securing funding for social impact projects, and supporting entrepreneurs. Prior to full-time entrepreneurship, she catalyzed Fintech in Action, a national initiative for Black and Latinx inclusion in finance and fintech, extending its impact to over 15 states and securing $1.7 million in funding. Her work leading The Dallas Entrepreneur Center Network led to substantial growth and a $2.5 million funding achievement, facilitating critical cross-sector initiatives. Michelle’s strategic approach and dedication to community engagement have played a crucial role in driving sustainable social change.

During her tenure as Lancaster’s head girls track coach, Humphrey built a nationally known powerhouse track program that has produced several district, regional, and state championships. In addition, several student-athletes have received scholarships to continue their academics and athletic careers at the collegiate level. 

Humphrey joined Lancaster ISD in 1988 as a physical education teacher and head girls volleyball and track coach. For several years, Humphrey saw success in both sports programs; however, her high school track and field achievements have solidified her status as the winningest track and field coach in Texas. Under Humphrey’s leadership, her teams won 13 UIL state track and field titles and created the winning culture within Lancaster ISD. In addition to the state titles, she has also won 18 UIL Regional, nine UIL Area, and 35 district championship titles, with 32 consecutive. She has also received countless awards, accolades, and honors throughout her coaching career, which include her induction into the Texas Sports Black Hall of Fame, the Texas Track and Field Hall of Fame, the Texas Girls Coaches Association Hall of Fame, and the Prairie View Interscholastic League Coaches Association Hall of Honor.

In 2004, Humphrey was named the district’s athletic director, overseeing all aspects of athletic programs. She provided direction and supervision to the district’s coaching staff, and at the time of her naming, she was one of the few female athletic directors in Texas.
