Over the weekend boxing fans anticipated one of the biggest fights of the decade featuring DFW’s Errol Spence and Omaha, Nebraska’s Terrence Crawford. The event that happened Saturday, July 29th at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas drew over $50 million in revenue with about 700,000 pay-per-view buys! In the 9th round, Crawford defeated Spence 185-96 in total punches, including an 87-33 edge in jabs and 98-63 in power punches according to ESPN.
During his final interview, Spence said, “He was the better man tonight. He was using his jab, and my timing was a little bit off. He was catching me in between shots. … I make no excuses.” The boxer whose record now stands at 28-1, is looking forward to activating the bidirectional rematch clause which says, The loser of the highly anticipated Spence-Crawford bout will have 30 days to exercise the rematch clause, but it’s the winner who will decide whether the fight takes place at 147 or 154 pounds.
