DALLAS — Police say Tennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young received an assault citation after an altercation inside a Dallas strip club, but no arrests were made.

Dallas police Lt. Andy Harvey said the former University of Texas star was not at Club Onyx when police responded to a call of a physical confrontation early Sunday morning.

Harvey said an investigation led to Young receiving a Class C assault citation, punishable by a fine up to $500.

Titans spokesman Robbie Bohren said the team was aware of the incident and had contacted Young. He said the team was still gathering information.

Young was the No. 3 pick in the 2006 draft after leading the Longhorns to a national championship.

(This version CORRECTS that incident was inside the club and not  outside.)

*UPDATE*

At the Titan’s mini camp, Vince apologized to his team and coaches.

“I just made a mistake, I made a mistake even being there and I let that guy provoke me into doing what I did,” Young said. “… I pray to God that Roger Goodell doesn’t come down hard on me, because I definitely want to be here for my teammates.” -Vince Young
