Ayesha Curry Brings Jamaican Flavors To Her Home Chef Collab
Ayesha Curry Brings That Jamaican Flavor To Her Home Chef Collab
Ayesha Curry and millions of working moms everywhere have something in common, we all hate deciding what to make for dinner every night. The wife of Stephen Curry, mother of four, businesswoman, author, and chef (shall I go on?) teamed up with Home Chef to give moms a break by taking away one less decision away during the day.
We caught up with the Sweet July founder, who opened up about her collaboration with Home Chef. Through Home Chef, Ayesha is sharing her favorite easy-but-delicious dinner recipes in an efficient meal kit. She gives you all the ingredients and an easy step-by-step guide while bringing the flavor with island-inspired dishes. Being able to incorporate her Jamaican culture into the recipes was a main selling point for Ayesha. “They were just so collaborative and welcoming,” she said in a candid chat. Therefore she was able to create dishes she could be proud of.
“I have four kids,” she explained. “Sometimes I can’t get dinner on the table and so I love the idea of having these meals that I created.” Getting dinner on the table takes about 30 to 40 minutes with Ayesha’s recipes. “It’s a no-brainer. And I feel like everybody deserves to have that option.”
Ayesha Curry Recipes
Many of the recipes for the collaboration come from Ayesha’s cookbook. The 35-year-old entrepreneur is most excited for customers to try her jerk chicken rice bowl recipe. “I like that as an intro to Jamaican food for people. It packs all of the flavor on the chicken that you would get from the jerk seasoning. It’s super herbaceous. The chicken is going to be juicy, but then we pair it with a nice mango salsa, and that adds like this sweet creamy herby citrusy bite.” The dish even contains plantains. Another favorite is her apricot glazed salmon plate.
Some other recipes in the collection are Sweet Sambal Yellowtail with coconut-lime rice, Hot Honey Fried Chicken Wrap with pickles and slaw, Pan-Seared Filet Mignon with brown butter-apple-sweet potato mash, and more.
When asked if she watches other lifestyle influencers like Nara Smith, she laughed. “I for sure look at NARA Smith on Instagram. I love it. I’m very entertained by it, but it’s not, it’s not gonna work in my world.”
Motherhood
As the booked and blessed mother of four, Ayesha knows all too well about mom guilt. “It is real. I have it all the time. From the time I wake up to the time I go to bed,” she shared. ” You can have all of the encouragement around you that you’re doing the right things and you’re doing what you’re supposed to do, But that, that feeling of mom guilt still creeps its little way in.”
For Ayesha, her busy schedule sometimes makes her feel like she’s not “doing enough for my kids” forcing her to “overcompensate. “I exhaust myself and it’s so ridiculous.” It’s all about “perspective,” she said.
