It seems like it’s been forever since we saw Shaunie O’Neal and her mean-girl gal-pals fighting around Los Angeles. But alas, Basketball Wives L.A. is back. And with Season 5 comes two new girls who are stirring up trouble.

Joining O’Neal is Tami Roman, Brandi Maxiell, Jackie Christie, Angel Brinks and Malaysia Pargo. The newcomers are DJ LaTosha Duffey who’s engaged to basketball manager Iman Shokouhizadeh and Angel Love who’s dating DeJuan Blair, former Washington Wizards player.

Duffey is brought into the fold by Maxiell, which naturally (since these are grown woman), makes Pargo jealous. And the bestie face-off begins!

Christie is still up to her usual tricks, putting the girls against one another and trying to looked snatched at 40/50-something. “I’m really into getting my body into tip-top shape,” she says in one confessional. “I need to stop drinking because that’s why I got this Liver Sarcoidosis. I don’t even know what that means.”

Another person dealing with health issues is Roman, who after having a miscarriage last year, is on the fence about trying for another child. “I know that you haven’t had a child and you want one. But that may not be what I’m capable of doing,” she says to her partner, through tears.

Brandi and her husband are trying to work things out, after his infidelity, although she seems to be giving push back in the trailer. In a VH1 interview last October, the reality star spoke on what was really going on in her marriage.

“Once I had my son, it was all about my son,” said the ovarian cancer survivor. “I was like that mom by the book. You know, I did everything right. Every time I had a break I never went on date night, I never did anything that we used to do as a couple. And I went through postpartum [depression] and I really just forgot about him.”

Adding, “When you forget about him, and you neglect your husband, you know, they get neglected and they do stupid things, and I think that’s what happened. Even though I feel like it was my fault on what happened, he was supposed to be responsible enough to be my husband, stay faithful and stay, and continue to be the husband that he’s supposed to be but we’re here… But, you know, we’re here.”

Basketball Wives L.A.‘s fifth season premieres on VH1 Sunday, July 17, at 9 p.m. ET.
