That Shonda Rhimes reign just won’t let up. The writer, producer and TV executive has had a hold of our edges and our hearts since her first show, Grey’s Anatomy premiered over 10 years ago! Since then she’s been the only African American woman to have control of an entire evening on a primetime network between Grey’s, Scandal, How To Get Away With Murder and her latest heist series, The Catch.

Shonda’s unstoppable success will be lauded when she receives the International Emmy Founders Award at the 44th annual International Emmy Awards on November 21st in New York.

“Shonda Rhimes is in a league of her own…Her groundbreaking shows and iconic characters are avidly followed by over 300 million viewers worldwide, in 67 languages,” said Bruce Paisner, President-CEO of the International Academy.

The 46-year-old mother and author of “Year of Yes” told Variety, “I am continually amazed by the global reach of television and have been so fortunate to have fans of my shows around the world.”
