Common has always been a man of many talents. From acting and rapping to public speaking and activism, the Chicago MC has shined in all mediums. Now, he’s set to host Spike TV‘s first-ever competitive furniture design series ‘Framework’. The show is set to premiere on Tuesday, January 6 at 10pm.

Thirteen of the nation’s top emerging furniture designers will be competing for $100,000 and the opportunity to have their work sold by a major manufacturer. The competition will span over the course of 10 weeks, with the contestants pitting their creativity and artistry against each other in various challenges. Nolan Niu and Brandon Gore are two of the industries most influential names in furniture designs, and will be accompanying Common on this wild reality ride. Each of the furniture experts will be critiquing the designers on their execution, creativity, overall design, and much more. They’ll also serve as models of inspiration and counsel for the contestants.

The show was created by Dwight D. Smith and Michael Agbabian of Mission Control Media. They’ll each serve as executive producers of the series along with Andrea Richter and Common.
