The house Eminem and his mom grew up in in Detroit caught fires yesterday. Detroit Fire was able to put it out but not before the top floor was heavily damaged. No official word yet on what caused the blaze.
This is the house that we see on the cover of his 2000 and 2013 albums, “The Marshall Mathers LP” and “MMLP2.”. His mom bought the crib in 1987 for $19k and it has changed hands about 10 times since she let it go before it was abandoned in 2009. The house was later turned over to a bank in Michigan who put it on sale the same day it caught fire (yesterday).
Too bad it’s in the shape that it’s in. It sure could have been turned into a museum chronicling the career of the MC that made this foundation famous.
