Most men find Valentine’s Day as more than a hassle and process of hate. Some try to avoid the day by staying single or becoming single for the moment. Here are some of the moments men hate about the holiday.
The Pressure
According to the universal laws of Valentine’s Day, the occasion is to celebrate love for each other. In reality it’s really her day. She expects flowers delivered to her desk at work, she expects dinner at a restaurant (you more than likely can’t afford), and a miracle of a gift after dinner. In my opinion, it’s like we’re celebrating another birthday.
What Men Really Think: I should just break it off before V-Day. I can’t afford it.
Teddy Bears
One thing Valentine’s Day will have NOT have a shortage of is teddy bears. And picking one is crucial in her eyes. Most importantly — size matters. Show up with anything the size of a Barbie doll expect the love to be reciprocated in the same fashion. So make it count with the bears.
What men think: There is a slight chance this bear may get more attention than me after dinner.
Pharmacy Gifts

For some reason pharmacies decide to fill their aisles with cheap and unnecessary gifts they think you need. If I’m going to buy chocolate it’s definitely not going to be from the pharmacy around the corner. In reality you should be buying these novelty items the other 364 days and not just on V-Day, which just marks it as another Hallmark day on my calendar.
What Men Think: Buying chocolate, flowers and a card from the pharmacy isn’t such a bad idea right. At least I bought something .
Flowers
Flowers might be the most overrated gift ever. Everyone is selling them, and they are thoughtless but women expect them for Valentine’s. My advice on February 14 is show up with flowers.
What Men Think: I’m going to spend 10% of my lousey paycheck on flowers in the middle of winter that’s going to die in two days.
Balloons
Another lazy gift, anyone over the age of 18 should not be giving or receiving balloons as gifts.
What Men Think: I’ll get balloons as long as I get the helium when you’re done with them.
Dinner
Okay, so you and lady (or lady friend) go out all year to restaurants but for some reason this night makes it more special. How special can it be when 70 million other couples are doing the same exact thing on the same day? The restaurants are probably going to hike the prices up on their menu because of the Hallmark holiday.
What Men Think: We should go out the day before or after Valentine’s. Itdoesn’t make a difference because we’re still dining out just on a different day.
To Celebrate or Not
You’re dating someone new and the big day is coming up, do you celebrate the occasion with someone just started dating? The decision you make can alter the route the dating goes. You don’t want to go over the top or do too little, she will judge on what you have planned for day.
What Men Think: We just started do we really have to celebrate the occasion, maybe I should let her know in advance Valentine’s Day is not my cup of tea.
Are you guys going to celebrate Valentine’s Day?
