Just in case you missed it, Michelle Obama reminded the world that she and Beyoncé are BFFs. The First Lady, recently the recipient of glowing, handwritten fan mail from the superstar starlet, chose her bestie when a magazine reporter asked whom she would choose if she could be someone else.
“Gosh, if I had some gift, I’d be Beyoncé. I’d be some great singer,” Mrs. Obama told People magazine in an interview set to hit newsstands Friday. “The power of music, being able to play an instrument. … It looks like musicians just have the most fun.”
Beyoncé surely has it good — a boatload of Grammy awards, a chart-topping rapper hubby and her first child, Blue Ivy Carter, born in January. She also has deep appreciation for the First Lady’s character. “I am proud to have my daughter grow up in a world where she has people like you to look up to,” Beyoncé wrote to Michelle Obama last month, calling her “the ULTIMATE example of a truly strong African-American woman.”
Michelle replied on Twitter that Beyoncé was the true role model for children — and, as it turns out, for the President’s wife, too.
