Passion will push a person’s limits. Mavericks’ fan Frank Perez is proof.

“I shaved my head and eyebrows,” he boasted.

Caked in orange and black paint, Perez’s smooth noggin resembled a basketball ready for play.

“This is my first time to ever do something like this,” the Keller resident said.

Perez was among more than 50 people in costume outside the sold out American Airlines Center in Dallas on Tuesday night.

In what has become a popular tradition, ticketless fans show up dressed to impress in hopes that the Mavericks’ “Street Team” will reward them with a last-minute pass inside.

“We’re just poor college kids trying to get into the game,” said Caitlin Flores.

The exact number of free tickets available each night is never known, but 16 lucky fans won their way into Game One of the NBA Western Conference Finals.
