ARLINGTON — A suspicious package found in a median near the site of Super Bowl XLV Friday morning prompted a full response from security agencies.
The report of the package came in to Arlington police just before 8 a.m. The caller claimed he saw a person shove the item in a ditch and then walk away.
Police have shut down the intersection of Randol Mill Road and Collins Street at the northwest corner of Cowboys Stadium. Cedarland Plaza Trail was also closed.
Multiple law enforcement agencies are at the scene.
Several emergency officials are inspecting a package inside a manhole cover.
The plan is to detonate the package.
News crews are being moved further back for safety reason.
