A warrant reportedly states that the 56-year-old woman told a police dispatcher that she was attacked by a man and had accidentally shot him. The incident took place at the Asheville, North Carolina, home of Pagan’s mother.  The police warrant reads:

“During the 911 call, Sheryl Pagan stated that she had a gun. 911 operators asked Pagan to put the gun away prior to police arrival. Pagan stated to 911 operators that she did put the gun away. Officers on the scene, conducting a protective sweep of the premises, observed through the window of a golden Pontiac G6 a silver small-caliber hand gun. The gun was lying on the driver’s side near the driver’s seat in plain view to anyone standing outside the vehicle.”

Stevenson reportedly received one fatal bullet to the chest, according to investigators.

Ironically, Pagan’s son, Jeoffrey, managed to make the NFL cut, officially becoming a Houston Texans gridiron player just one day after the fatal shooting.

Meanwhile, Pagan is being held on a $100,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned on September 22.
