A special education teacher at Dallas’ Pinkston High School is recovering after being attacked allegedly by a group of students.

Isaac Ohonba said Thursday morning he parked in the lot on the west side of the school and was walking toward his classroom when five students cursed at him and jumped him.

Ohonba was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.

“My neck is hurt. My head is bruised. I have a little concussion on my head. I have a big bruise on my shoulder and I’m very hurt right now. I don’t want to go back to that school no more,” he said.

Alliance AFT Vice President George Rangel said he’s concerned the attack was retaliation for an informal teacher union protest outside the school Wednesday.

Ohonba was one of several teachers picketing against what they call unprofessional standards by campus administrators.
